The 4D Math Alliance is seeking exceptional individuals to join our board of directors and lead a transformative mission in educational innovation. We are at a pivotal moment in education, where technological advancements such as AI, and mathematical thinking, can reshape the future of learning.

Who We Are

4D Math Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to revolutionizing mathematical education through technological innovation, strategic funding, and equitable access to advanced learning opportunities for teachers. We partner with math teachers and leaders who commit to instructional practices that empower all students as thinkers and “doers” of mathematics.

We Are Looking For Candidates with Expertise in one or more of the following areas:

• Fundraising
• Technology Funding and Grant Development
• Public Relations & Marketing
• Youth Mental Health / Social Emotional Development
• Nonprofit Governance
• AI and Educational Technology
• Background in STEM Careers or workforce development

Candidate Profile:

• Commitment to engagement in the Board, Committees, and 4DMA events
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
• Network of contacts in education, technology, and/or policy sectors
• Passion for creating equitable learning opportunities for educators
• Ability to contribute to fundraising and strategic planning efforts

Our Current Educational Landscape

The K-12 public education system faces unprecedented challenges:

• Technological disparities across school districts
• Teacher shortage throughout the country
• Misalignment between traditional education and emerging workforce needs
• Lack of deep applicable understanding of mathematics
• Limited resources in some areas

Key Advocacy Priorities

AI Education Funding: Developing targeted funding models that support:

• Advanced computational mathematics curricula
• AI-powered personalized learning platforms
• Professional development for educators in emerging technological fields

Technological Equity: Creating initiatives to:

• Provide state-of-the-art mathematical and computational resources to underserved school districts
• Develop mentorship programs connecting industry professionals with K-12 students
• Support interdisciplinary approaches to mathematical education

Future-Ready Learning: Promoting educational models that:

• Integrate AI and advanced mathematical thinking across curriculum
• Develop critical thinking and computational skills from an early age
• Prepare students for emerging careers in technology, science, and innovation

Board Action Plan

• Continuous research and analysis of educational technology trends
• Active engagement with policymakers, educators, and technology leaders
• Development of grant programs and funding initiatives
• Creation of pilot programs demonstrating the potential of AI-enhanced mathematical education

Time Commitment

• Estimated 5-10 hours per month
• Quarterly board meetings
• Occasional special committees and working groups
• Ability to attend virtual or in-person meetings
• Frequent engagement in 4DMA events when applicable
